- Quito’s Socioeconomic Atlas: A Tool for Informed Urban Decision-MakingThe Atlas Socioeconómico de Quito is a research and data visualization project developed by the Instituto de Investigaciones de la Ciudad. It integrates census, survey, and administrative sources into a geospatial platform that maps demographic, social, and economic conditions. The Atlas provides evidence-based insights to support urban planning, social policy, and institutional decision-making, making complex information accessible and actionable for policymakers and citizens.
, Geographic and Environmental Engineer – Master’s Degree in Urban Studies, Institute of City Research
- Using ArcGIS Dashboard to Visualize Dynamic Changes of Homeless PopulationOur research team utilized ArcGIS Dashboard to visualize and analyze the dynamic spatiotemporal patterns of the distribution of homeless population and related health care facilities (shelters, food banks, public restrooms, etc.). The Dashboard includes the density of homeless population at the census tract units using 2020, 2024, 2025 Point-In-Time Count (PITC) data. By analyzing the temporal changes of PITC patterns and the accessibility to health care facilities, homelessness researchers and social workers may use this dashboard to help homeless individuals to discover more resources.
