Unifying Data to Turn a Nonprofit's Mission into Action

  • Quantifying Park Resource Distribution with ArcGIS Business Analyst Block Points

    A people-centric understanding of the impact of parks on the lives of residents requires us to relate the quality and quantity of parks with the distribution of populations. Using Esri's ArcGIS Business Analyst block points, we developed a method for integrating field-based survey results, remote sensing data, and the ParkServe database with population distribution to better understand the distribution of park resources at multiple spatial scales. The results allow us to visualize differences in resource distribution and produce a quantitative prioritization of parks and neighborhoods for investment.

  • Mapping Progress: the ArcGIS Framework Behind the Atlanta Beltline
    To enhance transparency and streamline data management, Atlanta Beltline worked with Blue Raster to unify disparate housing datasets and migrate manual spreadsheet workflows into ArcGIS apps. The new framework features dynamic dashboards, web-based editing, and automated reporting tools that standardize updates, improve accuracy, and empower staff to maintain and share housing progress directly within the GIS environment.
