Jesus went from town to town championing a life where everyone – regardless of who you were - could receive what they needed. But what if Jesus had GIS? STA-CIS is a GIS driven stakeholder conflict model that examines the interdependence of individual stakeholder goals and objectives, identifies the root causes of current community and household concerns, then guides financial investment and deployment of outreach and mission activities. STA-CIS teaches churches how to coordinate activities and remove silos to quickly resolve the most intractable problems.  

Isochronic Mountain is public art installation of a ceramic “landscape” model in Buffalo City Hall that offers the public a physical manifestation of the invisible infrastructures and inequities that shape everyday life in their contemporary cities. This mountain translates GIS data into a physical artifact where info is apprehensible inside debates concerning the right to the city. Specifically, by visualizing time spent on public transit as the z-height, Isochronic Mountain offers an intuitive understanding of the “uphill climb” necessary to move through the city without a car.

Geodesign is transforming the way we approach spatial planning and decision-making, and integrating GIS tools is crucial for its success. This talk will introduce the ESRI-Bridge, a new powerful open-source tool that connects Geodesignhub with ESRI ArcGIS software, enabling seamless data exchange and enhanced spatial analysis. Participants will gain insights into how this tool works, its key functionalities, and how it has been applied to real-world projects and how they can implement it in their work.
