Our approach empowers communities to engage with design tradeoffs, turning complex issues into actionable strategies and roadmaps to success. By connecting local actions to broader systems, geodesign and dashboards demonstrate how small, informed choices can drive large-scale change and create a resilient future.

California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has introduced a novel heat-health ranking system, CalHeatScore, with the goal of reducing heat-related health risks, especially to those most vulnerable. This public health tool provides real-time, local health-relevant heat rankings at the zip code scale to serve as an early warning system for communities. The system uses historical relationships between climate conditions and local health responses to translate upcoming daily weather forecasts into easy-to-understand rankings - Rank 0 (low) through Rank 4 (severe). 

The goal of the Miami Resilient Waterfront Enhancement Plan was to present shoreline enhancement options and provide guidance for the City to finance, procure, design, permit, construct, and maintain a waterfront that emphasizes nature-based design features. The plan included a comprehensive mapping analysis using flood data and city-owned properties to identify pilot sites that could be used as a basis of design for shoreline enhancement strategies.These design typologies showcased ideas for strategies that are applicable and able to be implemented for a range of waterfront settings.
