The presentation will discuss ISW’s all-source research philosophy of “Intelligence from Open Sources” and how this approach is distinctly different from how most intelligence professionals conceptualize OSINT as a separate intelligence discipline. The presentation will discuss how ISW uses this all-source approach for assessing control of terrain in Ukraine from open and commercially available sources, and how ISW's analysis has informed decision-making and public awareness across Europe and the globe.

In NATO’s fast-paced environment it is crucial to keep track of global situations of strategic importance to the Alliance. Esri’s StoryMaps technology transforms situational awareness by combining dynamic geospatial data with interactive storytelling. This tool has allowed the Geo & Space Services Section to visualize unfolding events in an interactive manner, having integrated imagery, narratives and data feeds into ‘interactive geospatial situation reports’. These inform leadership at NATO HQ by turning complex spatial information into clear, engaging insights, assisting decision-making.

Microsoft 365 is embedded into everyday life, shaping how teams collaborate and make decisions. Integrating ArcGIS brings location intelligence into familiar tools, allowing users to bring GIS data into Excel, Power BI, and Power Automate. This enables geospatial analysis, dynamic dashboards, and automated workflows, all within the Microsoft ecosystem. These integrations allow everyone to harness the power of location intelligence in their daily work.
