This session examines how geospatial strategies improve efficiency and design in offshore wind. Ørsted highlights how organization-wide initiatives in automation and advanced tools have enabled greater collaboration, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across projects. Getech demonstrates how spatial analytics supports turbine placement and cable micro-siting, integrating diverse datasets to create optimized layouts that reduce implementation and maintenance costs. Together, these perspectives illustrate how GIS strengthens both organizational processes and technical design in offshore wind development.

- Driving ROI by Applying Spatial Analytics to Offshore Wind Farm Micro-Siting
Presentation shows how offshore wind farm planners can use ArcGIS spatial analytics to create better designs for turbine placement and cable array layouts than established planning technologies. Using ArcGIS Pro it is possible to integrate disparate data sources and then apply an integrated planning approach to optimize offshore wind farm turbine and cable layouts (known as ‘micro-siting’), leading to potentially significant savings in future project implementation and maintenance costs.

- The Journey to ArcGIS Enterprise: Challenges, Opportunities and the Road AheadGIS has been used for several years in Vestas across multiple departments, but many solutions were developed independently across teams. This lead to limitations in governance, solution sharing, and training. An evaluation was taken to find a solution in addressing these challenges, which resulted in the selection of ArcGIS Enterprise as the foundation for a global, standardized GIS Platform. Now, new focuses include continued migration of legacy GIS setups, and increasing GIS adoption to new areas, using GIS throughout the renewable value chain.
