Typhoons Ketsana and Haiyan shifted the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation's (PDRF) focus from response to resilience. PDRF addresses risks, empowers communities, and promotes sustainability. Using GIS-based tools like the Hazard and Disaster Analysis for Business Resilience (HANDA), PDRF's private sector-led Emergency Operations Center gathers and analyzes geospatial data to monitor situations, helping the private sector effectively make decisions, allocate resources, and respond during disasters.
