GIS in Electric Transmission Asset Management and Projects
Presentations
- Implementation of the Utility Network at a Transmission System OperatorAs a cross-border Transmission System Operator, TenneT manages a 24,500 km high-voltage electricity grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. The historical heterogeneous asset management systems need to be replaced by the Utility Network. There are different challenges like; data migration, implementation of the CIM standard, 3D and support of multiple processes and interfaces to ERP, DMS, grid calculation etc. In this presentation we will try the balancing act between theoretical background, insights into project implementation and live presentation of the finished data model.

- SuedLink and Esri´s Role in the Project
Germany has the goal of increasing the share of renewable energy to 80% by 2030, as part of the energy transition. This requires the expansion and conversion of the power grids. High-performance DC lines as SuedLink play an central role. With a length of around 700 kilometre and a capacity of 4 GW, SuedLink is the largest energy transition infrastructure project in Germany. Geodata play a fundamental role in the lifecycle of such projects . They fulfil the needs of spatial information from the start till the end of operation. This lecture gives insights to the role of Esri in SuedLink.
