- The Use of Mobile Applications in the Management of Water Infrastructure
In 2021, Jihlava became the new owner of the water infrastructure within its territory. The municipal company SLUZBY MESTA JIHLAVY s.r.o. (Services of the city Jihlava) is its service company. The first priority was to quickly display data, both in the office and in the field. Furthermore, there was a need for a rapid response to the requirement for managing defects and other descriptive information about individual assets in the network. After getting into the GIS system itself, additional operational requirements for water supply and sewage systems came.

- Enhancing Tap Water Quality through Customer Feedback: A GIS-centered Approach
Water supply network expansion projects led to an increase of customer complaints about tap water quality. Jūrmalas ūdens Ltd. utilized GIS to: 1) gather and classify customer complaints; 2) improve DWQ monitoring network based on complaint heatmap; 3) provide spatial context to DWQ testing results; 4) optimize WSN maintenance procedures and gather critical asset data; 5) notify customers of the steps taken to resolve the issues. As a result, the utility has developed a GIS-based DWQ monitoring workflow that ensures the quality of service while promoting efficient use of its resources.
