The United States needs a greenhouse gas information service, like the National Weather Service, yet structured to leverage recent advances in the private and non-profit sectors. The Federal Government agrees, having just released a National Strategy on this very idea. That Strategy identifies the need for a “robust, formalized coordination structure that leverages collective U.S. capabilities and expertise to realize the vision, goals, and objectives outlined in the National Strategy.
