- Agricultural Crisis Management Using GIS: Real-Time Assessment and Planning Tool
GDA responds to agricultural crises such as foreign animal diseases, invasive plant species, and natural disasters. We standardized all of our data using SQL Server into an enterprise geodatabase and use ArcPy to update a referenced web layer. We empowered users with a 24/7 web app that interactively presents all of this data along with other critical agricultural, weather, partner agency, and Living Atlas data to support decision making. The situational awareness widget allows staff to quickly identify facilities within a tornado path or within an animal disease quarantine zone.
