The most logical solution for a digital twin of our cemetery was our GIS system. The GIS team and Public Works Department worked together on defining what data needs to be captured. Once the schema was designed for the appropriate layers, orthorectification began. Over the course of years, plats were scanned and rectified with aerial imagery to create grave spaces. We upgraded the office staff to manage edits using web maps. We then deployed a web application for the public to find their loved ones.
