Two things that complicate public safety operations is large crowds and large bodies of water. This public safety session is a must see for the pulling of public safety personnel positions through emergency service radios and the ability to effectively execute coordinated searches spanning days on lakes.

- Enhancing Operational Awareness with Radio Locations
To improve emergency operational awareness, the City of Brentwood implemented an update to their antiquated radio system with Motorola radio systems. All of our public saftey vehicles previously had the technology to show the locations of vehicles. One of the many improvements with the radio upgrade was the ability to locate all new mobile and portable radios for our public safety and non-public safety departments.

- Field Maps In the Field
In the winter of 2021, the Cornelius Fire Department began looking for a solution to track and organize marine incidents on Lake Norman. During this time, we found Field Maps. With the help of our local emergency management team, we have created a user friendly and quickly deployable solution. Users can now submit real time photo, video, and mission points that the incident commander can form strategies and tactics from. Lake incidents can often last multiple days and now there is clear continuity from day to day. Field Maps also helps ensure we are as efficient as possible.
