- 3D Basemap Generation in Hillsborough County, Florida
Esri 3D Basemaps Solution allows for new types of visualization and analysis that were not previously available to county staff and the public. Buildings and tree points were extracted from aerial imagery utilizing Esri’s pretrained deep learning models, which were used as inputs for 3D mapping. 2017 LiDAR Point Cloud dataset was then processed in ArcGIS Pro 2.9, enabling the creation of a 3D model. Temporal changes may have occurred since the LiDAR data was acquired; however, it allows exploration of the 3D basemap and it’s potential uses across various County departments.
