- Leveraging ESRI to Reduce Risk in the Community
The fire service is an industry that is rooted in history and traditions. There is a saying in the fire service that firefighters only hate two things: “change and the way things are”. Fires develop faster and more aggressively today than in the past. More emphasis is needed to help prevent fires and educate our communities on hazards to help mitigate risk. This presentation will show how a private, non-profit fire department was able to re-invent “the way we’ve always done it” and leverage the ESRI software suite to create custom solutions engineered towards Community Risk Reduction.

- Integrating ArcGIS Online Webmaps with Your 9-1-1
In 2021, we had received multiple bear sightings through 9-1-1 from within one of our communities in Baldwin County, Alabama. Our dispatchers came to me asking if they could have a large wall map so they could plot each bear sighting so they could track it. Instead of this wall map I quickly created them a Survey123 form to where they could populate the form with basic information, and created them a live map of the data they were creating. I was able to embed this map within the CAD map so they could view inside dispatch. This followed up with more webmaps as the months passed.
