- Let’s Get Moving – Finding Alternative Commuting Options for City Employees
The city’s Public Works department is starting an initiative to promote alternative commuting options for employees. They reached out to the GIS department to find a way to determine what employees could feasibly walk, bike, or use public transportation to get to work. This presentation will cover how the GIS team used available Network Datasets and created its own to perform service area network analyses. It will also cover a WebApp Builder application created to help answer questions like: who lives within a 30 minute bus ride of a city facility? Who could bike 2 miles to work?
