This session engages GIS in emergency prepardness from the perspective of addressing in the mostly densely populated county in Florida and from the application of GIS in the Emergency planning efforts of the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.

- Implementing the Esri Address Management Solution at Pinellas County
Pinellas County is the most densely populated County in Florida with 3425 people per square mile. As a result, this means there are a lot of addresses to manage and accuracy is important when there can be many addresses in close proximity to each other. Prior to implementing the new Esri Address Management Solution, Pinellas County already had an Esri-based address data model and supporting workflows that worked well for many years. The County looked to the new Address Management Solution as a way to migrate workflows from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro and support growing business needs.

- Using GIS to Support Emergency Operations in the State of Georgia
The mission of the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency is to facilitate the protection of life and property against man-made and natural disasters by directing the state's efforts in the areas of prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Georgia has experienced 20 major disasters in the past two decades and 46 since 1953. This presentation will demonstrate how the State of Georgia is utilizing ESRI's ArcGIS Platform to serve our citizens in all 5 phases of comprehensive emergency management.
