  • Ensuring GIS Data Quality for an Effective Utility Network Migration and an ADMS
    To provide a new way to model its networks and support evolving business needs, FirstEnergy decided to undertake a significant GIS project implementing the latest Esri ArcGIS platform technology, which included the transition from FirstEnergy’s legacy AutoCAD Map GIS environment to its future state Esri electric UN model in parallel with implementation to a new ADMS with Advanced Apps. To avoid a disruptive and unpredictable implementation of its GIS, FirstEnergy wanted to be fully prepared for the UN migration by assessing its legacy data for issues that must be fixed prior to the migration.
