2023 Proceedings

The International Land Conservation Network (ILCN) was created in 2014 as a program of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We share advanced practices and innovations with civic and private sector land conservation organizations on six contients, from California to Kenya and beyond. Join us to learn how participating land trusts and conservancies are using GIS and geodesign ideas to shape land and biodiversity conservation efforts worldwide, and to celebrate the presentation of ILCN's Conservation Visionary Award to Jack & Laura Dangermond.

David Gadsden, Esri’s Director of Conservation Solutions will provide a brief overview of the history and scale of the Esri Conservation and Nonprofit Programs which supports thousands of organizations around the world working towards a more sustainable future.

Digital twins, or virtual representations of physical objects or processes can provide a powerful tool for tracking environmental changes over time and informing adaptive management strategies and decision making.  At The Nature Conservancy’s Jack and Laura Dangermond Preserve, a nature preserve located at Pt. Conception in California, we are confronting the complexities of natural systems to envision and implement a digital twin for the Preserve. In this talk we will walk through some of the data, models, and tools that are being used to create a Dangermond Preserve Digital Twin and how it is being used to support ongoing conservation efforts.
