The Southern California Association of Governments is the largest Metropolitan Planning Organization in the U.S., comprised of 191 cities and six counties.

In this presentation, SCAG introduces its new Regional Data Platform as a revolutionary new system for planning across scales and jurisdictions to help address border-transcending challenges facing the region. SCAG highlights the symbiotic relationship between local and regional planning, and the role of better data, tools, and government-to-government collaboration in addressing shared challenges under a common vision.

Joining their creative forces again, Ideal Spaces Working Group (ISWG, www.idealspaces.org) and vrbn (www.vrbn.io) are facing the challenge of reframing an old architectural and philosophical theme under a new approach: What would an ideal city look like in a contemporary context? This presentation explores some of the project's learnings and the 'making of' process.
