The European Gaia-X initiative provides an approach for the development of data spaces that support the provision and use of cloud and content services based on European values and regulations. The architectural design takes particular account of aspects such as data protection, transparency, portability and interoperability. In our presentation, we will try to give an overview of Gaia-X and related technologies. Furthermore, we will discuss the implications for providers of spatial data services, e.g. based on ArcGIS Enterprise, to meet the requirements of Gaia-X.
