The capacity to share data with external stakeholders and use these external data input for pipeline analytics becomes increasingly important and beneficial to the safe operations of the pipeline system as the use of GIS inside pipeline operation develops exponentially. These two papers, written by Magellan and Enbridge, will outline the accomplishments of each organization in the growing field of external stakeholder engagement.

- Compliance IntelligenceProblem Statement – The current Structure Identification Program is a reactive program versus a proactive program. The Program struggles to keep up-to-date on *new* property developments and it’s not able to plan for impacts to the GTM Compliance Program. Opportunity Statement – Notifications on new property developments come in through people, word of mouth and emails. There is an opportunity to improve the existing structure development program by leveraging previously unutilized data sources such as One Call and Aerial Patrol.

- Leverage the power of GIS to understand One-Call data in the Pipeline IndustryOne-Call agencies across the United States receive massive amounts of 811 tickets that are logged into the system. Since One-Call ticket data is publicly available and free to use, it’s readily available to integrate One-Call ticket data into GIS to better inform end-users and stakeholders of planned excavations so that protective measures can promptly be taken. At Magellan, ingest thousands of tickets data into our enterprise GIS for storing, visualizing, and sharing of the information within our networks so that our stakeholders can make informed decisions.
