- Integration of 3D Seismic Data and Large Vector DatasetsAdvances in the 3D capabilities of ArcGIS Pro allow subsurface visualization in exciting new ways. For the most part, 3D seismic displays have historically been viewed separately from all other data, with special exceptions like well bores. By converting SEG-Y data to a 3D voxel dataset, seismic data can now be integrated with large vector datasets, including well bores, perforations, paleo samples and sand-body reservoirs. This is revolutionizing a holistic view of subsurface geology for exploration and production.

- Geoprocessing services bring subsurface data to lifeWhen exploring for new Oil and Gas opportunities there are significant amounts of subsurface data which must be analyzed using geospatial techniques to find and unlock new plays and prospects. Shell’s Exploration digitalization team has developed a Python library, built internally for accessing and analyzing subsurface data. Geoprocessing services have been created and published to an ArcGIS Server to provide a user-friendly interface for non-Python users. This allows the user to convert the calculated data into feature classes that are instantly presented on a map.
