Spatially enabling the emergency notification process allow for more timely, focused and time-driven alerts to be routed to those that need information quickly.

Presentation 1 Abstract:
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) initiated a multi-divisional effort to consolidate data, streamline workflows, and create time-driven spatial analysis tools for ENTAC (Emergency Notification and Tactical Alert Center) incident reporting. Through the use of GIS, we were able to remove redundant paper file submissions, improve hierarchical approval processes, enable time-driven spatial analysis, and create intuitive dashboards to display data. With minimal training, CHP staff is able to utilize custom applications and increase spatial awareness of these incidents.
