Monitoring marine traffic is critical to mitigating collision risks and ensuring the safe navigation of passing and attending vessels to our offshore assets. BP’s Global Attending and Passing Vessel Collision Monitoring (GAPCOM) application hosted in One Map has replaced a legacy system used by bp onshore and offshore teams for monitoring marine traffic. GAPCOM is providing enhanced attending and passing vessel monitoring capability, improved purpose-built user interface and reporting system, direct connections to bp AIS and radar equipment on offshore installations, and integration with other bp data streams and layers such as: Global Marine Weather data and Regional subsea infrastructure. This presentation will provide a high-level view of how the GAPCOM application was developed and live demo of the capabilities offered within the application.
Until end of 2021, maritime assets tracking in TotalEnergies was operated through an application based on open-source technologies. From the beginning, the development, maintenance and software updates have been entrusted to Thales. This application was managed by GIS team and was provided to the affiliates. The constant evolution of technologies, obsolescence management, high frequent maintenance, and increase of data volumetry linked to the new requests and needs from users, have led TotalEnergies and Thales to think about, to improve, and design a new solution. This solution is based on the Esri COTS ArcGIS GeoEvent Server. Thus, the ArcGIS GeoEvent Server allowed to simplify AIS (Automatic Identification System) data collection, transformation, insertion, storage and historization. One processed, the data are displayed in dedicated webapplications using mapservices. The ability of maintenance and the new developments are facilitated through the GeoEvent administration interface and associated tools. Since the implementation of the GeoEvent Server, the operational, technical and administrative uses are now perfectly adapted and sustainable, even opening the way to new ideas.
