bp are migrating their system of record for Pipelines from PODS 5.2.3 bp Golden Build to PODS 7x bp Golden Build with APR. The session will take the audience through the thought process behind why upgrade in the first place, the advantages of PODS 7 with APR over older PODS data models, the broad stages of the implementation and unknowns that presented themselves during the project. This project has added complexity due to the diverse geographic extent; coordinate systems and units of data being migrated across numerous regional SDEs.

Presentation 2 Abstract:
In this presentation we will explain the strategy followed to execute a Proof of Concept project at GRTgaz, the main gas carrier in France. GRTgaz is looking for the best strategy to simplify its GIS landscape, and to support network modifications when migrating towards renewable gas as part of the energy transition. GRTgaz asked Esri France and Tensing to help them with this challenge. Together, we ran a project to explore the capabilities of the combination of both the Utility Network and ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing to replace the current custom developed GIS setup at GRTgaz. During our presentation we will highlight the results of the project and present lessons learned and proposed next steps.

Presentation 3 Abstract: For the last two years OMV Downstream GmbH is continuously working on improving their planning and asset management processes especially for the regularly recurring shutdowns of one or more technical facilities. Turnarounds (TAR) are one of the most expensive (and labour intensive) but routine aspects of refinery and manufacturing plant operations involving a lot of stakeholder coordination,planning and effective execution. As it involves planned downtime for operations for different reasons – revamping,new construction,inspection,it poses an added safety risk for personnel and the facility. Follow OMV Downstream GmbHs journey from the beginning where red lining and planning were done on printed plans,via first web editing experiences in WebOffice and finally their way to a customized ESRI web editing platform.The newly developed ESRI App has all the necessary functions for delivering accurate and up to date planning,accessible for all stakeholders.We even took the planning process one step further and integrated our 3D models within the GIS and combined SAP assets to visualize different stages of the TAR and therefore increase the awareness during the ongoing maintenance business.
