This project describes the role of the geospatial discipline for supporting the understanding of specific geological resource formations in Argentina Onshore. Multiple geographical scales, from regional to licence, were used to compile, visualize, and analyze different geoscience subdomains in the Neuquen Basin. These included, among others, geology, basin modelling, geochemistry, paleogeography, petroleum systems, petrophysics and seismic. Finally, a set of resource maps was obtained based on geostatistical techniques using a diversity of proprietary, open source, and cloud solutions to analyze and disseminate information.
The presentation explains how the Esri technology has been used for the map’s generation and web publication of Wells Events, such as Reservoir extents, Losses, and Completion zones, to support the collaborative work of technical entities for wells preparation and operations. Objective: The main goal is to save time and gain efficiency via exhaustive maps and/or the use of an interactive web interface for data consultation. The WebGIS application allows the access to a complete and reliable source of information easily available via the intranet. The point is to facilitate the access to critical information about wells and speed-up the taken of decisions during operations. This also helps guarantee data accuracy and improve safety of operations thanks a precise and updated cartography.
