At Shell our strategy is to power progress together by providing more and cleaner energy solutions. We have a vibrant and continuously improving Upstream business which allows us to provide the energy the world needs today, while increasing our investments in cleaner energy. This presentation will demonstrate how the Shell Geomatics community is playing a key role in the delivery of this strategy by leveraging an enterprise deployment of ArcGIS Online to harness and share geospatial data across the company. You’ll hear about the benefits of our transition from an on-premise ArcGIS Portal to an ArcGIS Online Organization and see examples of how we’ve leveraged it to provide tangible value by harnessing the power of data liberation and democratization. Examples include providing corporate datasets, maps and apps allowing teams to quickly screen areas for carbon capture and storage opportunities, ArcGIS Online Hubs configured with key content and how-to videos, and an app and workflow to support both low-carbon growth and traditional exploration teams to quickly capture their interpretations and story lines to share learnings and drive fast, informed business decisions.
Ørsted has chosen ArcGIS as a global GIS Platform throughout the entire company. The ArcGIS platform facilitates the design, construction, and operation of utility-scale offshore as well as onshore wind and solar farms, thereby furthering the green energy transition. The presentation will focus on how we have enabled the GIS analysts in the business to deliver their products to the projects in a very short work cycle. We have deployed ArcGIS Enterprise in Azure Cloud with a three-tier enterprise installation (Test, Preproduction and Production) following Esri best practices. We will give a system overview and discuss the challenges we have met with this approach and how we have addressed them using automated workflows with special focus on moving items and keeping integrity between portals.
